OKIRAN
Pananaw sa Lanao
DESIGN CONCEPT
The
Maranao
Cultural
Park
is
envisioned as an immersive cultural
landscape
where
architecture,
craftsmanship,
and
storytelling
converge. Inspired by the intricate
language of Okir, the park transforms
traditional Maranao artistic principles
into spatial experiences that celebrate
identity, resilience, and continuity. Every
pathway, structure, and open space
serves as a chapter in the cultural
narrative, allowing visitors to journey
through the history, traditions, and
living heritage of the Maranao people.
DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
"Culture is not merely displayed—it is experienced."
Rather than functioning as a museum of isolated artifacts, the park allows visitors to
actively experience Maranao traditions through movement, architecture,
performance, craft, and interaction.
OKIR AS SPATIAL LANGUAGE
Instead of applying Okir solely as
decoration, its flowing geometry becomes
the organizing principle of circulation,
space-making, landscape patterns, and
architectural identity throughout the park.
